Cospicua Home was officially inaugurated on 18th December 1999. This residential home was built by the Maltese Central Government and subcontracted to CareMalta for the management and running of the operations.
"Conservatorio San Giuseppe", as this building was known, was a girls orphanage erected in the late 18th century by bishop Vincenzo Labini and a priest with the name of Salvatore Lanzon. The spectacular features of this 18th century building were all restored and a new section was built leading to a perfect fusion between the old and the new building. The small chapel dedicated to St. Joseph, was restored during the conversion and made available to both residents and non-residents.
This complex comprises a mixture of single rooms, double sharing rooms and triple bedded rooms. Many of the rooms enjoy exceptional sea views of the Cottonera and Valletta Harbour. A Day Centre is also incorporated within the entrance of this home and is available to residents and non-residents alike.
