The Facility Management Team plays a vital role in maintaining the safety, functionality, and comfort of our care environments. With a hands-on approach and deep understanding of each site’s unique requirements, this team ensures that all buildings and systems operate efficiently, meeting high standards of hygiene, accessibility, and sustainability. Their attention to detail and dedication behind the scenes make a meaningful difference in the daily lives of those we serve.
Edel Borg Mizzi
Facility Manager, Casa Arkati
Edel has been employed with Caremalta since 2003. Her first role within the company was that of a Care Assistant at Casa Arkati.

After 7 years, she had a 2-year experience as a Senior Care Assistant at Roseville, and later as a Lead Care Assistant at both Roseville and Żejtun Home, where she was responsible for the care department. During the same period, she was engaged as a Training and Development officer for another year.
She recently finished her studies at the University of Malta, within the Faculty of Social Wellbeing in Geriatrics and Gerontology. In October 2020, she started her journey as Assistant Facility Manager at the Żejtun Home and in July 2021, she joined Casa Arkati as an Assistant Facility Manager. Edel also served as Facility Manager at Żejtun Home between 2022 and 2023 and she was appointed as Facility Manager at Casa Arkati.
Anthony Caruana
Facility Manager, Villa Messina
He finished his studies at the University of Malta, within the Faculty of Social Wellbeing in Geriatrics and Gerontology, and in July 2022, he was appointed Facility Manager of Villa Messina.

Anthony started his career with a German company, in the field of Industrial Thermal Management. He then moved with a leading company specializing in design, engineering, and management of the built environment, a subsidiary of an international luxury hotel brand, forming part of a highly respected group of companies, where he was involved in various local and overseas projects.
In 2018, Anthony joined CareMalta as an Assistant Facility Manager at Casa Marija. Then, in June 2021 he moved into the same role at Villa Messina.
Julia Tabone
Facility Manager, Roseville
Julia Tabone is a Health and Social Care professional with diverse experience across the disability and elderly care sectors. In 2017, she attained a BA (Hons) in Health and Social Care Management from the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology, where she developed a solid understanding of person-centered care, social policy, and organizational management within care environments.

Her career began in the disability sector, where she gained hands-on experience supporting individuals with diverse needs before progressing into a coordinating role focused on day-to-day operations and service delivery. Julia later worked in the public elderly sector within the Elderly Residential Department, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to safeguard residents’ health, safety, and their wellbeing within Care Homes.
During this time, she attained an MSc in Strategy, Leadership and Change Management. In addition to her social care background, Julia spent two years in a managerial role in the public food sector. This experience, combined with her studies, allows her to drive continuous improvement and enhance the quality of care in her practice.
Annalise Attard
Facility Manager, Casa San Paolo
Annalise graduated as a physiotherapist in 2013 and accumulated nine years of experience working across various departments before taking the decision to specialise in geriatrics and rehabilitation.

In addition to her healthcare background, Annalise spent two years abroad as a Resort Manager in the hospitality industry, where she successfully managed teams and oversaw all operational aspects. In July 2024, Annalise returned to Malta and joined CareMalta as a Facility Manager at Żejtun Home , where she continued to contribute her diverse expertise to the Group. In 2025 Annalise was appointed as Facility Manager at Casa San Paolo.
Anto Manuel
Facility Manager, Casa Marija
Anto holds a Degree in Nursing and a Diploma in Management. To further strengthen his expertise, he is currently pursuing a Master’s in Mental Health.

Anto began his professional journey with CareMalta in 2012 as a nurse at Zammit Clapp Residential Home. After three years, he transitioned into the role of Assistant Manager at Casa San Paolo, where he further developed his leadership skills and deepened his understanding of facility operations. He then moved into the same managerial role at various other facilities, including Casa Arkati, Casa Marija, Villa Messina, and Roseville, where he continued to enhance his capabilities in facility management. In February 2025, Anto was appointed as Facility Manager at Casa Marija.
Clarice Micallef Cilia
Facility Manager, Żejtun Home
Clarice Micallef Cilia has been appointed as Facility Manager at Żejtun Home in 2025. Clarice is an Allied Health Practitioner specialising in podiatry, with extensive experience across primary care, hospital, and community settings.

She has served within the Ministry for Health and Active Ageing, providing prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of foot problems, particularly among elderly populations, while also contributing to wound management committees and patient care initiatives.
Clarice holds a B.Sc (Hons) in Podiatry and an M.Sc in Public Health from the University of Malta, with her research focusing on diabetes-related foot care. She has also acted as a dissertation supervisor, public relations officer for the Association of Podiatrists of Malta, and a COVID-19 swabbing hub coordinator. Dedicated to lifelong learning, she continues to expand her expertise through international training and research.
Yasmine Seguna
Facility Manager, Mellieħa Home
Yasmine Seguna was appointed as Facility Manager in 2025. She joined CareMalta in 2013 as a care assistant, and through hard work and continuous learning, she advanced within the Group.

Her career path within the company has seen her serve as a senior care assistant, active ageing coordinator, lead carer, and later as facility lead. These varied roles across different CareMalta facilities enabled her to gain experience, deepen her understanding of the sector, and develop a leadership approach.
Yasmine completed her studies in Gerontology and Geriatrics at the University of Malta and further expanded her expertise by completing a phlebotomy course, becoming a certified phlebotomist.
By working across multiple CareMalta facilities, Yasmine has gained expertise and a comprehensive understanding of care operations. With CareMalta’s support in her professional growth, these experiences have been instrumental in shaping the person she is today.
Cynthia Scerri
Facility Manager, Zammit Clapp Residential Home
Cynthia Scerri is an experienced Occupational Therapist and healthcare leader with over 30 years of experience in gerontology, geriatrics, rehabilitation, and healthcare service development.

Cynthia was appointed as Facility Manager of Zammit Clapp Residential Home in March 2026. She holds a Master’s degree in Gerontology and Geriatrics from the University of Malta and has held several leadership roles within Malta’s public health sector. Throughout her career Cynthia has led important projects, including the development of Malta’s first Sensory Integration Therapy Centre, school-based occupational therapy services, and initiatives to improve healthcare quality and patient care. She has also managed Occupational Therapy Departments at Zammit Clapp Hospital and Rehabilitation Hospital Karin Grech, supporting teams in delivering effective rehabilitation services.
Alongside her professional work, Cynthia is an Assistant Lecturer at the University of Malta, helping to educate future healthcare professionals. She is recognised for her leadership, innovation, and commitment to improving the lives of older adults and people with complex needs.
Antoine Borg
Facility Manager, Dar San Ġużepp
Antoine Borg, Facility Manager at Dar San Ġużepp, began his journey with CareMalta Group in 2009 at Mellieħa Home. He is known for his approachable leadership style and hands-on involvement.

Antoine’s dedication and passion for the residents’ well-being saw him transition from the kitchen department to the Front Office team, where he became a key point of contact for residents and their families at Mellieħa Home.
In 2018, Antoine was entrusted with the role of Facility Administrative Assistant at Casa Marija, and shortly after he completed a Diploma in Leadership and Management, he was appointed Assistant Facility Manager at Cospicua Home. After nearly a year in the role, Antoine was promoted to Facility Manager in the same facility. In 2023, he returned to Casa Marija as Facility Manager, where he further strengthened his leadership and care standards.
In November 2024, Antoine expanded his academic knowledge by obtaining a Higher Diploma in Gerontology and Geriatrics awarded by the University of Malta.
In 2025, Antoine took on a new challenge at Dar Merħba and Dar il-Wens as part of HILA, and he also began managing Casa Apap Bologna, which also falls under the remit of HILA. During that same year, Antoine was appointed as Facility Manager of Dar San Ġużepp, CareMalta’s first facility in Gozo.
Nicolette Anastasi Sant
Mentoring Manager
A certified Phlebotomist, Nicolette joined CareMalta in 1997 and over the years she has moved up the ranks. Nicolette started her career as a carer at Casa Arkati and quickly became one of the first group of Senior Carers. Continuing to grow in her career, Nicolette was appointed the first-ever Care Ambassador, focusing on training recruits in CareMalta’s facilities. A couple of years later, she was once again entrusted with an unprecedented role – that of Lead Carer at Roseville during the home’s first months of operation.

Upon completion of her Diploma in Pragmatic Leadership for Managers, Nicolette was appointed Assistant Facility Manager. After the major refurbishment at Villa Messina, she joined the Villa Messina team and was appointed Facility Manager.
In May 2022, Nicolette was entrusted with the role of Home Manager at Casa Apap Bologna, one of HILA’s homes, another branch of the CareMalta Group. In 2023, she was appointed as Facility Manager at Roseville.
With nearly three decades of experience, Nicolette continues to grow within the Group. Today, as Mentoring Manager, she draws on her deep, grassroots background to guide and support employees across CareMalta Group in their professional development.
