Officially opened on the 13th March 1994, Zejtun Home was the first Public Private Partnership between the Government of Malta and CareMalta Group. The home is built on three levels, with a lovely central courtyard, a private garden and an in-house chapel. It has a large dining room on each floor level and also links to the adjacent Day Centre. The Home has a dependency level area where residents are catered with a room service. Activity rooms, lounges and TV rooms are situated on each floor level.
Our residents are admitted through the Elderly and Community Care Department. Residents will be invited to attend an orientation visit prior the admission to the Home. During this visit new residents will be given a tour of the facility and briefed on the facilities offered at the Home
Zejtun Home is a 204-bedded residential home. All rooms are air-conditioned, have a TV connection, telephone set and a nurse call for each resident. There is also a nurse call via a pull chord system in the shower room. The en-suite shower room and the kitchenette are to be shared in case of sharing residents. Most rooms have a balcony and enjoy country and sea views.

Meals are served in the dining rooms for both lunch and dinner. Room service is provided for those unable to go to the dining room due to illness or any other certified ailment.
Laundry – Laundry Service operates free of charge.
Linen/Towel Services – Linen such as sheets, pillow cases and blankets are provided in house.
Mass is celebrated in the Home’s chapel everyday .There is room service Holy Communion for those residents who cannot attend Mass in the Chapel.
Zejtun Home has an internal procedure for dealing with any complaints or suggestions forwarded by residents. Residents are also invited to join the Home’s Residents’ Association
There is only one main entrance and exit to Zejtun Home. This door is controlled by the reception area and is always locked. Common areas are also CCTV controlled for health and safety purposes.
Smoking is strictly forbidden in the rooms and all public areas in line with national legislation. Excessive consumption of alcohol is strictly forbidden within the facility.
All rooms are fitted with a fire alarm system. Residents are to follow the staff’s instructions regarding fire alarms and fire drills.
Facility Manager, Żejtun Home
John Sciberras has been appointed as Facility Manager at Żejtun Home in 2023. John has been part of CareMalta for the past 23 years. He started his career with the company in January 2011 as a Professional Chef at Villa Messina. During the years he managed to climb the ladder of opportunities offered within the company. In 2020 he was appointed as Assistant Facility Manager at Roseville.
John graduated from the Institute of Tourism Studies as a Chef and he is currently reading a Master’s Programme in Elderly Care Management to further develop the technical, leadership, and management skills required to ensure good quality care services.

All residents can keep their family doctor as long as he/she is willing to visit them at Zejtun Home should the need arise. If this is not possible, the home will provide residents with a family doctor to follow up or else conatct will be made with the Paola Health Centre.
The services of a podologist, social worker, physiotherapist, occupational therapist and geratiatrician are offered free of charge by the Department. CareMalta also provides free of charge the service of a phlebotomist. Blood investigations can be carried out at Zejtun Home and sent on the day to Mater Dei Hospital.
Most residents are entitled to Schedule V (yellow card) for free medicines. The home has an agreement with a local pharmacy to process and dispense our resident’s POYC needs. The nurse in charge will fill-in the necessary papers and the doctor will sign the prescriptions. Delivery will then be made to Zejtun Home by our courier driver.
On Thursdays a hair dresser is in attendance. Residents can book their hair dressing requests directly with the Reception.
Every resident is responsible for his/her personal belongings.The home is not responsible for any valuable items pertaining to the residents which are left in the rooms.
The Multi-purpose room is situated at the far end of the 3rd floor, for the use of activities, exercise classes, lectures, and meetings. Unless in use, the room is kept open all day for the personal use of the residents.
