Facility Manager, Casa Arkati
Roberta Agius graduated as a social worker in 1998 from the University of Malta. In 2007 she read for her Master’s in Human Resources Management and Training from the University of Leicester. She worked at Aġenzija Appoġġ (Foundation for Social Welfare Services) for many years, particularly in the field of child protection and domestic violence. She also led and managed the Domestic Violence Shelter between 2012-2018.
Apart from managing a number of social work services and organising events on a national level in aid of the Children’s Fund, Roberta also worked as a lecturer at St Martin’s Institute of IT, a director of her own business and lately as an HR and Admin Manager at Citadel Insurance Plc.
Roberta joined CareMalta in October 2020.
Facility Manager, Villa Messina
Joining CareMalta in 1997, Nicolette, a certified Phlebotomist, has moved up the ranks and worked in all our homes. Starting her career as a Carer at Casa Arkati, she quickly became one of the first group of Senior Carers at CareMalta. Continuing to grow in her career, Nicolette was appointed first ever Care Ambassador, focusing on training new recruits in our homes. A couple of years later, she was once again entrusted with an unprecedented role – that of Lead Carer at Roseville during the home’s first months of operation. Upon completion of her Diploma in Pragmatic Leadership for Managers, Nicolette was appointed Assistant Facility Manager. After the major refurbishment at Villa Messina, she joined the Villa Messina team and has now been appointed Facility Manager.
Facility Manager, Roseville
Following an extensive professional career in the public service, Roslynn joined CareMalta as a Facility Manager in 2019,. She has held headship positions in the Ministry of Education and Employment, the Foundation for Social Welfare Services ( the National Social Welfare Agency) and also managed a residential home for adolescents experiencing social and emotional difficulties.
Roslynn is a warranted social worker holding a first degree in Social Work, and has persued further her post graduate studies in Human Resources Management & Training, and in Social Policy. She currently sits on the executive committee of the Maltese Association for Social Workers, and on the Management Board of Fondazzjoni Sebh, which is an NGO running several residential homes for children and a shelter for victims of domestic violence.
Services Manager, Mellieha Home
Josette gained 24 years’ experience in the hospitality industry, mainly in London and Cambridge, working for various companies, such as the Intercontinental Hotels Group, Village Urban Hotels and Hotel Du Vin.
She has also managed various hotels at Deputy General Manager and General Manager levels, as well as being part of two large hotel pre-openings in London.
Josette joined CareMalta in November 2016.
Facility Manager, Zammit Clapp Residential Home
Pierre’s experience in elderly care spans more than 12 years. He started his career in the UK as care assistant and eventually managed a number of residential and nursing homes for different providers. Apart from the healthcare sector, Pierre also worked in consultancy, construction, engineering and the mining sector.
Pierre holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Financial Management, Vocational Qualification (Level 4) in Health and Social Care and achieved his Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from Henley Business School in September 2017. He is currently enrolled to complete his Project Management certification with the Project Management Institute (PMI).
Born and raised in South Africa, Pierre is the eldest of six children. He holds South African and British nationalities and also Maltese residency after moving to Malta with his wife in 2019.
Pierre joined CareMalta in December 2020 as Facility Manager at Zammit Clapp Hospital Residential Home.
Facility Manager, Zejtun Home
Stuart graduated with a Diploma in Hotel Supervisory Management from the Institute of Tourism Studies in 1998. From a career spanning over nearly 24 years, he has worked both abroad and in Malta and has been part of two pre-opening teams and various task forces. Working mainly in the five-star category of the hospitality industry, he started off as a waiter and worked his way up to Food & Beverage Manager.
In 2017, he joined CareMalta’s sister company CaterEssence, as Deputy General Manager of the Hotels & Restaurants Division. He joined CareMalta as facility manager of the Zejtun Home in November 2020.
Facility Manager, Casa Marija
Backed by 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Carl started off his career as Night Manager at The Bugibba Holiday Complex. In 1994, he was promoted as Front Office Duty Manager at the newly built Coastline Hotel in Salina Bay. Over the years, he managed a 300 bed Aparthotel in Xemxija, and later took the responsibility of Front Office Manager at the Radisson Blu Golden Sands Resort & Spa.
Facility Manager, Casa San Paolo
Ms Farrugia graduated B.Sc (Hons) Nursing Studies in 2008. Following the completion of her studies she spent four years as an ITU nurse. During this period she successfully managed to obtain her Master’s in Public Health Medicine in 2011. Following her experience as an ITU nurse, she spent two years at the Infection Control Department, focusing on hand hygiene and decontamination processes. In 2015, Ms Farrugia moved to London, where she spent one year working as an ITU nurse. Upon her return to Malta, she was employed in the private sector as head as community services. She joined CareMalta in June 2020.
Facility Manager, Cospicua Home
With more than 40 years of experience in the hospitality industry, most of which within senior management teams of both five-star and upper four-star international hotels, Joseph joined CareMalta as facility manager of Cospicua Home in November 2020.
He also served as a human resources mentor to a number of emerging industry leaders, namely in the area of hospitality for a number of years.
A Management and Labour Studies graduate from the University of Malta, Joseph has been tasked with managing a whole range of departments, including strategy, food and beverage and human resources during the course of his career.
Prior to joining Care Malta, he occupied the role of hotel manager at a prominent hotel in Sliema.
