CareMalta’s senior nursing manager Noel Borg and his wife Edel were presented with a sculpture by Joseph Scerri in recognition of Mr Borg’s excellent leadership, guidance and dedication during this past difficult year.
Mr Nazzareno Vassallo, chairman of the Vassallo Group, said CareMalta had been a front liner during the pandemic, always capably led by Mr Borg. He then handed the couple the work of art – a lighthouse set on a rock battling waves, held by caring hands – in the presence of all members of the Vassallo family and senior management teams.
Addressing Mr Borg, Natalie Briffa Farrugia, CEO of CareMalta, said: “You were our lighthouse, guiding us in very difficult times. This sculpture is for you as a family to show you our appreciation – for your wife Edel, who supports you and has also been a front liner, especially in her new role as assistant facility manager of the Zejtun Home, and also for your daughter Jael. Although the hands holding the lighthouse symbolise CareMalta’s support, ultimately, they are the hands of God.”
